About Us
GDH Fire & Security Ltd was set up in 2019 by George Helsdown MIET. We are the sister company to Helsdown Electrical Contractors Ltd (also on Checkatrade), which has over 50 years of combined experience.
We started GDH Fire & Security as a separate business because more and more customers were asking us to carry out fire and security work as well as electrical work. Running the two companies side by side means we can look after most of our customers’ needs with one trusted team. We have created HELSDOWN SERVICES as the main contact for clients that incorporates both the limited companies Helsdown Electrical Contractors Ltd and GDH Fire and Security Ltd .
We work in homes, shops, offices and industrial buildings. Many of our customers from our other company have been with us for over 30 years , and we always aim to make every job simple and stress-free, so we are pleased to add these services with the same trust personnel to them .
We are a small team that works well together and takes pride in doing neat, safe and long-lasting work using good quality materials.

The GDH Team
George Helsdown - Director
George Helsdown established GDH Fire and Security Ltd Contractors in 2003. He started out as an apprentice at David GDH Fire and Security Ltd Engineering before building his own company. He is now a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology with an excellent understanding of all elements of project design to installation.
David Helsdown - Operations Manager
David Helsdown is the Operations Manager for GDH Fire and Security Ltd Contractors and brings 40 years of experience delivering high quality electrical works. He uses this experience to ensure our projects run smoothly and to time, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
We have built up this growing business with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and great workmanship. As a result we are a Which? Trusted Trader, are endorsed with a TrustMark and have many glowing customer reviews on Checkatrade.com.
